Housing Services
The
Homebuyer Program
provides assistance to low to moderate income families with the purchase
and/or rehabilitation of a home. Renewal Unlimited can provide money
through a 2nd mortgage for down payment and closing costs for low income
home buyers. A homebuyer’s household income must be at or below 80% of
County Median Income (CMI) to be eligible for the 2nd Mortgage. The
homebuyer must make a contribution towards the purchase of their home.
Counseling is provided for all Homebuyer Program applicants.
The
Homeless Prevention Program provides assistance to low to moderate
income households who fall under 50% of the County Median Income with rent,
security deposit and utility assistance to maintain stability. Assistance
may provided in the form of a Grant, if you are elderly (62 and
older), disabled, or have a terminal illness. All others will be considered
for a 0% Interest Loan. The loan is to be paid back using an
affordable payment plan which will be determined by the Housing Program
Coordinator. A general intake application must be done either over the
telephone or in person with the Housing Program Coordinator to determine
eligibility. Once eligibility has been determined the formal application
process will be started. There is a target date of 14 days to complete the
process. Based on the needs of the community, the processing time may
change.
