AmeriCorps Technical Supervisor:  Full-time, full-year position with an excellent single benefit package. Position oversees a local residential building site that could be new construction or rehab home project.  This opportunity works with at-risk youth between the ages of 17 to 24 in the construction site setting. Teaching the youth pre-employment home building skills to transition to higher education, the military or into the workforce. The candidate will build relationships with the youth while instructing, coaching and encouraging them along the way.  This position works closely with the AmeriCorps Teacher who is working with the youth to assist them in obtaining their high school equivalency test. As well as with an experienced Technical Supervisor/Program Manager.  The ideal candidate would be someone with home building background and a passion to help at-risk youth. Someone who loves helping others be successful, have an ability to think through and explain tasks in multiple steps with patience. Fresh Start — Youth/Young Adult Positions:   Renewal Unlimited, Inc. in Portage, WI is accepting applications for the Portage Fresh Start/AmeriCorps Program for 2020-2021.  We have immediate openings for eligible participants ages 17 to 24 who are looking to complete or have completed their high school diploma.  Fresh Start/AmeriCoprs members earn a daily wage while preparing for GED/HSED testing and certificate.  Members will also develop work skills while building new single-family homes on a construction site.  The homes will be sold to qualified low income families.  In addition, participants will engage in other service projects throughout the community and learn valuable life skills. Along with earning a daily wage, all testing fees are covered and upon successful completion of the program, members are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.  The education award may be used to pay educational costs at post-secondary institutions (including technical schools and colleges).  Members have up to 7 years to use the award. Hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 8-3:30 and Friday 8-12:30. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in the day as well as required work day shirts/sweatshirt.  There are several openings to be filled for this position.

Columbus Head Start Classroom Assistant:  Full-time position, 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. The wage range is $9.85 to $10.88 per hour depending on experience. The Center Assistant position assists the teacher and teacher assistant in working with preschool children in the classroom and while being transported on the bus. Preference may be given to candidates with Early Childhood I & II or experience with preschool children. Must have Early Childhood I & II classes within 1 year of hire. Part-year position that runs for 9 and ½ months during our school year. Starting late August and finishing mid-June. The wage is $15.97 per hour. The bus driver will drive Head Start children (3-5 years of age) twice per day, once for pickup in the morning and another for drop-off in the afternoon. The kids are in the classroom from 8am-3pm Monday through Friday. The route is expected to take about 60 – 90 minutes, but is subject to adjustment based on enrollment. The bus is a short 29 max capacity bus. An aide accompanies the driver on every route. The bus driver must have or obtain a School Bus Driver’s License (CDL) within 90 days of hire and have a clean driving record for the past 3 years. Renewal pays all costs for obtaining a CDL. The bus is a type A bus and will require a class C license. This position is eligible for holiday, sick and personal leave as well as eligible to participate in the retirement program upon meeting the program requirements . Parent Educator, Sauk County: Full time, 40 hour a week position. $16.43 – $18.14 per hour depending on experience. The Parent Educator plans and implements weekly home visits for 10-12 families within Sauk County. Plans and implements weekly playgroups for children ages 0 to 5. Works with the Family Resource Center Team to plan family engagement and male involvement activities and parent trainings/meetings. Year-round position. Family Resource Center Aide, Baraboo:  Part-time position is Monday – Friday, 27 hours per week. Occasional evening hours required, dates known in advance. Some flexibility with hours based on Center Events and Activities. Hours are typically 8am-2pm. Wage range is $9.85-$10.88/hour based on experience. Maintain center cleanliness. Assists in the preparation of, and attends weekly family resource center activities. Prepares snacks appropriate for infants and toddlers. Maintains the Resource Center Library and other duties as assigned. Must have a professional attitude. Computer skills are helpful. Knowledge of child development is helpful.
